At Wistanstow CE Primary School, we believe that outdoor learning is an essential part of and a child’s educational journey. Being immersed in nature and the outdoors has numerous benefits for our pupils, including:
- developing a deeper understanding of the world around them
- encouraging physical activity and healthy lifestyles
- fostering teamwork, communication, and problem-solving skills
- nurturing creativity and curiosity
We take every opportunity to get outside and make the most of our beautiful setting. Whether it’s exploring the natural world, conducting science experiments, or engaging in outdoor games and activities, we believe that learning outdoors is an invaluable experience for our pupils.
One of the advantages of being a federation is that we can collaborate with other schools to provide our pupils with a range of outdoor learning experiences. We regularly take advantage of opportunities to visit other schools within our federation where we can undertake outdoor learning activities in different environments. This not only broadens our pupils horizons but also allows us to share best practises and ideas with our fellow educators.
By embracing outdoor learning we’re helping our pupils develop into confident, capable, and curious individuals who are equipped to succeed in an ever changing world.
