Our Location
Wistanstow CE Primary School is nestled in the heart of a small rural village with a rich history dating back centuries. The school’s location is steeped in heritage with Roman Road, Watling Street, running alongside our grounds. The village has a long tradition of farming and our school calendar reflects the rhythms of the seasons, connecting our learning to the world around us.
Our historic school building situated next to the village church, provides a unique and inspiring setting for our pupils. We operate a mixed year group teaching approach that allows us to tailor our teaching to meet the individual needs of each child. Our experienced teachers deliver a rich and engaging curriculum that fosters a love of learning.
Learning Beyond the Classroom
We offer a range of extracurricular activities that enrich our pupils’ experiences. Our sports clubs have produced some strong teams that have won competitions up to county level. We make the most of the nearby Village Hall in it’s beautiful setting, utilising it for a range of activities including sports, concerts and other events that bring our school community together.
Our STEM club, the Goblin Car Club, has enabled children to develop their engineering skills and participate in competitions with other schools, building confidence and discovering new skills and interests.
Our forest school activities provide opportunities for outdoor learning and exploration. We also collaborate with other schools within our federation, travelling to explore the local area and share facilities. This approach broadens our pupils’ horizons and helps them to develop new skills and friendships.
